Chen Cheng Mei (1927‑2020), also known as Tan Seah Boey, was a second‑generation Singaporean Nanyang‑school female artist, painter and printmaker. She was the initiator of the Ten Men Art Group. Born in Singapore, she graduated from the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA) in 1954. She worked as a French translator in a bank, and later travelled across more than twenty countries in Asia, Africa and Latin America for artistic inspiration.

Fond of landscape and terrain subjects, she employed bold colours and defined forms with simplified colour blocks. She kept a low‑profile throughout her career. Her works are collected by National Gallery Singapore.

Key exhibitions: Joie de Vivre, NAFA, 2014; The Tailor and the Mannequin: Chen Cheng Mei & Yeh Chi Wei, National Gallery Singapore, 2021‑2022.
